Ron Artest enjoying every minute of being a champion

Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers captured NBA Championship number 16, defeating the Boston Celtics 83-79 at Staples Center.  While guard Kobe Bryant earned NBA Finals MVP, the Lakers best player in Game 7 was the ever mercurial Ron Artest.  The forward totaled 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals in the low scoring slugfest. He also nailed a key three-point shot late in the contest.

Amazingly, the Artest highlight show did not remotely conclude when the game clock struck zero.

Artest began his postgame activity by thanking his psychiatrist and promoting his latest musical endeavor, during an unforgettable interview with ABC’s Doris Burke.  Shortly after this occurrence, Artest delivered yet another memorable performance at the game’s official press conference, located in the Chick Hearn Media Room at Staples.

As Laker players dispersed into the LA night, the Artest championship carnival traveled north on the 101 Freeway into Hollywood.

Below is a piece of video showing Artest exiting Wonderland on North Cahuenga Blvd.  Wearing his number 37 jersey, Artest said hello to this throng of excited Lakers fans before entering a chaffered truck. This video is courtesy of Pop Candies TV.

Ron Artest and the city of Los Angeles appear to be a perfect fit.  Take a look at another article and video chronicling further friendly interaction between the NBA Champion and his fellow Angelinos.
