A whirlwind two days for Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees

Sunday night, Saints ‘quarterback Drew Brees was awarded Super Bowl XLIV MVP.

In leading the Saints to a 31-17 victory over the Colts, Brees tied a Super Bowl record, by completing 32 passes.  His phenomenal performance also included throwing for 288 yards and 2 TD’s.

Upon securing the Saints first-ever world championship, Brees immediately transitioned into the bevy of responsibilities associated with being “Big Game” MVP.  His first task was filming the famous “I’m going to Disneyworld” commercial, during the team’s postgame celebration.

Monday morning, Brees fulfilled his TV pledge by flying to Central Florida, to appear in a ticker-tape parade at Disneyworld.  Brees and Mickey Mouse joined together on a float down Main Street USA, inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom.  A significant portion of the parade’s onlookers were Saints fans, who had also made the early morning trip from South Florida.

After the parade’s conclusion, Brees boarded a jet to New York City, for the early evening taping of “CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman.”  Brees and New Orleans native Sandra Bullock headlined this very Big Easy focused program.

Letterman, the Indiana native and noted Colts fan, gave Brees his well earned respect throughout the show.  Letterman even took a jab at his favorite team by invoking a top ten list titled “Top Ten Indianapolis Colts Excuses.”

After stops in Orlando and New York, Brees finally arrived back in New Orleans, in time for the city’s much anticipated victory parade.  The raucous parade included: 12 floats, 15 marching bands, the Marine Corps Color Guard, the Budweiser Clydesdales and a whole lot of projectile beads.
