Kansas City becoming New England West

Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs hired former Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel to be their defensive coordinator.  This announcement takes place one week after the Chiefs appointed former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis, offensive coordinator.  Both Crennel and Weis served in identical capacities for the New England Patriots, during the Pat's three Super Bowl victories in the early 2000's.

Lane Kiffin to succeed Pete Carroll at USC

Multiple media sources are reporting that University of Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin has agreed to become head coach of the USC Trojans. Kiffin will be replacing his former mentor Pete Carroll, who was introduced as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. Kiffin served as an assistant at USC from 2001-2006.

Tuesday, former USC football coach Pete Carroll was officially introduced as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Friday, the team fired Jim Mora Jr., after just one season as head coach.

Mark McGwire Comes Clean Regarding Steroids

Monday, former Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals all-star Mark McGwire, ended years of both silence and denial, when he finally admitted to using steroids during his big league career. 

Mike Tyson hosting WWE Monday Night Raw

Boxing's most controversial figure, former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, will appear as guest host on Monday's edition of "WWE Monday Night Raw."  Raw will originate from the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Tyson is no stranger to the infamous WWE squared circle.  He served as special enforcer for a title match between Shawn Michaels and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV on March 29, 1998 in Boston. 

Mr. Shanahan goes to Washington

Mike Shanahan, two-time Super Bowl winning coach of the Denver Broncos, is heading east to become head coach and executive vice president of football operations for the Washington Redskins.  Shanahan will be paid $7 million per season by controversial Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder.  He will be the seventh coach employed by Snyder during his 10-year reign as team owner, joining a list that includes current Chargers Coach Norv Turner, legendary college coach Steve Spur

Vince Young and Ricky Williams to sign autographs at BCS Championship Tailgate

Jon Rapoport has spent his career working on all sides of the media and sports industry. He began his career at ESPN in studio production at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. While there, he won an Emmy for his contribution to "SportsCenter." Following his tenure at ESPN, Jon relocated to Los Angeles, joining the staff of the “Best Damn Sports Show” on FOX Sports Net.

Upon leaving the show, Jon worked in Web site and sports radio show development/production, with Major League Baseball in media operation logistics for the World Baseball Classic and on behalf of Los Angeles’ effort to bring the 2016 Summer Olympics back to Southern California. Jon currently writes a political blog for the Los Angeles edition of Examiner.com.

Born and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota (just outside of Minneapolis), Jon is an avid sports fan, particularly for his beloved Minnesota teams. Jon graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned his BA in communication and interned for ABC’s “Good Morning America” in New York City and Washington D.C. He is married and resides in Los Angeles.
