Wednesday, Major League Baseball announced that  to the threat of rain. Game 6 will now be played Thursday night in St. Louis, with a possible Game 7 now set to take place on Friday night.

This is the first time a World Series game has been postponed since Game 4 of the 2006 Fall Classic, which coincidently was also played in St. Louis. That year, the Cardinals defeated the Detroit Tigers in five games.
