Canucks Hoping to Bring the Cup Back to Canada
By Ryan Rapoport - Mon, 2011-06-06 14:43
If the Vancouver Canucks hold on to their 2-0 series lead, against the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals, they would be the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since the 1993 Montreal Canadiens. That year, the Canadiens beat the Los Angeles Kings in five games. The series featured Patrick Roy, Luc Robitaille and Wayne Gretzky. It would turn out to be Gretzky’s last Stanley Cup Finals appearance. The Kings were coached by current ESPN hockey analyst Barry Melrose.
