Wednesday night (weather permitting), Chris Carpenter faces Yovani Gallardo in the pivotal Game 3 of the NLCS. Carpenter has been an excellent postseason pitcher throughout his career, going 6-2 with a 2.94 ERA. Carpenter is coming off his sensational complete game shutout of the Phillies in the deciding game of the NLDS.

On the other hand, Gallardo, who won 17 games during the regular season, earned his first-ever postseason victory in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Diamondbacks.

The young pitcher verses the veteran, should be a good matchup.
