The Celtics Have Been Nothing Less Than Perfect In Game 5’s
By Ryan Rapoport - Tue, 2012-06-05 18:09
Tuesday night, the Miami Heat host the Boston Celtics in the pivotal Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Sunday, the Celtics tied the series at 2-2, after a dramatic 93-91 overtime victory.
A 2-2 Game 5 situation has been commonplace for the Celtics since the “big three” (Pierce, Garnett, Allen) first appeared in the postseason together, back in 2008.
Tuesday’s contest will be the ninth time this scenario has taken place, with the Celtics winning every single one of those games.
The winner of Game 5, in a best-of-seven series tied 2-2, advances to the next round 83 percent of the time.
