Getting Set For The Phillies & Cardinals NLCS Game 5
By Ryan Rapoport - Fri, 2011-10-07 16:59
Friday night, the Phillies host the Cardinals in the series deciding Game 5 of the NLDS. Roy Halladay and Chris Carpenter battle in a high profile pitching matchup of former Toronto Blue Jays. 2011 marks the Phillies fifth consecutive postseason appearance, yet it is their first decisive Game 5 of an NLDS.
For the Cardinals, this is their seventh postseason trip since 2000 and their second NLDS Game 5. St. Louis’ other Game 5 resulted in a loss to the Diamondbacks in the 2001 NLDS. The Diamondbacks would go on to defeat the Yankees in an epic seven-game World Series.

The Phillies originally wanted a downtown ballpark similar US Cellular Field to Baltimore, Denver, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit and San Francisco. Various locations were proposed, initially at Broad and Citizens Bank Park Tickets Spring Garden streets, Spring Garden and Delaware Avenue Miller Park and next to 30th Street Station, where the main post office was located.
