Heat’s Game 3 Win Important On Many Levels
By Ryan Rapoport - Mon, 2012-06-18 18:32
Sunday night, the Miami Heat took a 2-1 series lead, after their 91-85 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Winning Game 3 was tremendously important for the Heat.
Since the NBA Finals expanded to a 2-3-2 format in 1985, only one team has won a series after losing Game 3 (when the series was tied at 1-1).
Ironically, the only team to lose the championship series, after going up 2-1, was last season’s Heat squad that went down to the Dallas Mavericks in six games.
