The Sights & Sounds Of The 2013 TwinsFest (Videos & Photos)

Sights & Sounds Of The 2013 TwinsFest Friday night, iFolloSports.com was on hand at the 2013 version of TwinsFest, held at the Minnesota Twins former home stadium, the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. TwinsFest is an annual three-day event that includes a large memorabilia show, current/former Twins players, as well as other former MLB athletes signing autographs and posing for photos with attendees. This year’s affair drew an estimated 25,000 fans, with a large portion of the proceeds going to various Twins charities.

Below are original pieces of video featuring Twins stars Justin Morneau and Josh Willingham, as the pair separately posed for pictures with fans. People were very eager to get their photos taken with the players, especially parents with young kids. Standing in line for a quick snapshot turned out to be a significantly easier approach to meeting the homerun hitting pair, since lines for autographs drew much larger crowds. The waiting time to receive an autograph from Twins star Joe Mauer (not pictured) was by far the longest of the day.

Recent Twins acquisition Vance Worley and utility man Ryan Doumit were also captured signing signatures for Twins lovers. Worley was acquired as part of the trade that sent Ben Revere to the Philadelphia Phillies. The Twins also received pitching prospect Alex May in the deal.

In addition to members of the current Twins roster, former players like Twins/Los Angeles Angels star Rod Carew were spotted signing autographs. Carew, who retired from baseball in 1985, may not be as known to younger generations, but he was, without question, one of the best hitters in the history of the sport. The native of Panama won seven batting crowns, while also holding the title of 1977 American League MVP. Carew was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

Twins Hall of Fame pitcher/current broadcaster Bert Blyleven was seen conducting a radio interview with the Twins flagship station, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities.
