Something’s Missing From The US Open
By Ryan Rapoport - Fri, 2011-06-17 16:52
Despite Rory McIlroy’s remarkable opening two rounds, the biggest story of the 2011 US Open, which is being played at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, is the absence of Tiger Woods. After returning from his well publicized marital drama, Woods re-injured his knee, causing him to once again miss time during the current golf season.
This marks the first time Woods has not played in the US Open since 1994.
The last time Woods won a major was during the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.
