Conan NOT Pulling A Leno
When the news first broke of where Conan would call home for his new Late Night venture, we all figured FOX. Did anyone see the TBS thing coming?
"Team Coco" rooted for him to show up on network television to do battle with former- now current Tonight Show host Jay Leno. NBC's much talked about shift in talent moving Jay back into the 11:35pm time slot forced Conan from the network on January 22, 2010.
Conan could have stayed with NBC, with a show named "The Tonight Show" after Jay Leno starting at 12:05. Conan's response: "I sincerely believe that delaying The Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t The Tonight Show."
After learning of Conan's return to television, many of us realized he was bumping George Lopez back from his time slot. In the video below, George says he's 100% on board:

Good for Coco, and good for TBS! It's nice to see Ted Turner is still sticking it to Rupert Murdoch every chance he gets.
My only question is, how is it that George Lopez has his own late night show and Chris Rock doesn't?
