The 36-year-old lefty was originally drafted by the Cubs, way back in 2002. From that point forward, Hill has very much bounced around MLB, spending time with the Cubs, Orioles, Red Sox, Indians, Angels, Yankees and Athletics. While in the midst of the best season of his career, Hill was traded from Oakland to LA on August 1 2016. The Massachusetts native would go on to post combined AL and NL 2016 statistics that included a 12-5 record, with a 2.12 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.
As he gets ready to embark on his 13th Big League season, the 6’5 hurler can now definitively claim financial and geographical certainly, thanks to the three-year/$48 million contract he signed with the Dodgers this offseason.
It took many years, but Rich Hill has finally discovered his baseball pot of gold.
