NBA Assist Leader Dishing Out Signatures (Video)

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo not only leads the NBA in assists (11.7), the seven-year man out of Kentucky has also assumed the reigns as the Celtics' driving force and best all-around player. While Paul Pierce (the greatest Celtic of this generation) is averaging a very solid 20.2 points per game this season and Kevin Garnett (Boston's spiritual leader) is leading the team in rebounding (7.0), Rondo's ability to fill up the stat sheet has propelled him into the category of best point guards and perhaps even best players in all of professional basketball.

In addition to Rondo's ability to lead a basketball team, the Louisville native might be equally known for his propensity to lose his temper, seemingly with the drop of a hat. Whether it be with big stars like Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, or big men like DeMarcus Cousins and Kris Humphries, Rondo is unafraid to mix it up with whomever, whenever.

Thursday, the often surly point guard stopped to sign some autographs for a gathering of Los Angeles NBA fans, outside the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the Celtics lodging destination of choice when visiting LA. The scene is visable per the above iFolloSports.com original piece of video.

Ironically, this posh Beverly Hills property was the very same location where Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge flat out denied last season's persistent rumor, regarding a possible Rondo trade to the Lakers, in exchange for Pau Gasol. It should be noted that nine months after Ainge's definitive Rondo proclamation, the point guard is averaging 13.6 PPG, 11.7 APG and 5.1 RPG, while Gasol is only tallying 12.6 PPG, 8.7 RPG and 3.9 APG.

Good call Danny!

In Thursday's 106-77 blowout loss to the Clippers, Rondo posted 10 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
