Tuesday night, with their Western Conference semifinals series tied 2-2, the San Antonio Spurs host the Golden State Warriors, in a pivotal Game 5. Under Gregg Popovich, the Spurs are 7-3 in Game 5’s (in a best-of-seven series) when tied 2-2. Incidentally, San Antonio has lost their last two games, when playing amid the above scenario.

Without question, the singular breakout performer of the NBA postseason has been Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. After averaging an outstanding 22.9 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 6.9 APG and 1.6 SPG, during the regular season, Curry has stepped up his game to levels usually reserved for basketball superstardom. In his first “second season,” the 6-3 point man has tallied a phenomenal 26.5 PPG (3rd in postseason), 4.3 RPG, 8.9 APG (1st in postseason) and 2.0 SPG (5th in postseason).

Monday night, the number two seeded San Antonio Spurs host the number six seeded Golden State Warriors, in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series. In the first round, the Spurs swept the depleted and old Los Angeles Lakers, while the Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets in six.

As a rather entertaining opening round of the NBA playoffs marches forward, sadly, one of the most glaring issues facing both teams and fans alike, involves the staggering amount of injuries that have struck down some of the league’s most impactful players. Whether the injury occurred during the postseason, regular season or even last season, the list of names missing in action (for some or all of the playoffs) is downright staggering. To put this situation into true perspective, one only has to take a look at the All-Star team of guys featured below.
