Northern Illinois 4 points in first half vs Eastern MichiganNorthern Illinois lost 42-25 at Eastern Michigan Saturday, and that was only the beginning of the story.

The Huskies scored just four points in the first half, on 1 for 31 shooting from the field. Northern Illinois successfully extended their ineptitude to 1 for 36, before sinking a second half bucket. Incredibly, NIU went 24 minutes between baskets.

The Huskies broke their own NCAA record for fewest points in a first half, which they had held since putting up five on December 1 versus Dayton.

The game featured the nation’s top 2014 high school basketball recruit, junior Tyus Jones, from Apple Valley High School.

Jack Taylor's mother Elizabeth TaylorWe all heard about Jack Taylor of Grinnell College and the 138 points he scored against Faith Baptist Bible, last Tuesday night, in a 179-104 win. His next game was Sunday evening against William Penn University (Oskaloosa, Iowa).

Once again, Taylor came off the bench, but this time he scored "only" 21 points, in a 131-116 lathering by the Statesmen. Taylor shot 6-21 from the field and sunk 3 of 13 three-pointers.

Against Faith Baptist, the 5-10 sophomore shooting guard broke the all-time NCAA scoring record, hoisting up 71 three-point shots (making 27), while sinking 52 of 108 from the floor for the Pioneers.  

He averaged a shot every 20 seconds.

Taylor's scoring average dropped to 51.5 points per game, after the loss to William Penn.

, Flea Free Shabazz Muhammad shirtLast Friday night was the grand re-opening of newly renovated Pauley Pavilion, on the campus of UCLA. Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea was the celebrity singer of the national anthem, for the game versus Indiana State.

But, it is what he wore, not how he sang, that got all of the Bruins fans buzzing.

Flea was adorned in a light blue T-shirt, with the words "Free Shabazz Muhammad" written across it.

Shabazz Muhammad is a dynamic, high-scoring freshman forward, who has been ruled temporally ineligible by the NCAA, while the body investigates whether Muhammad’s family received money from adidas or financial agents.

Wildcats, Tar Heels & Rockets Set To Dominate Draft During Thursday’s 2012 NBA Draft, the names of two heavyweight college programs and a currently mediocre NBA team will be mentioned quite often throughout the night.    

According to the most recent Sports Illustrated.com mock draft, both Kentucky and North Carolina will each have four players taken in the draft’s first round.
