The Miz Has Become The WWE’s Man: Part I (Video)

WWE superstar The Miz (Michael Mizanin) is all over the place these days. The former serial reality show contestant has risen to the top of the WWE as rapidly as anyone in recent memory, but it has not always been a smooth ride.

After finishing second on WWE “Tough Enough,” The Miz debuted in 2006, working as both a wrestler and television personality on “Friday Night SmackDown.”

The Miz’s rocky road continued via a stint in the ECW and continued wrestling centered broadcasting gigs. Then, in late 2007, he teamed with John Morrison to become the WWE Tag Team Champions.

The Miz would toil throughout the tag team genre, until going solo and capturing the WWE United States Championship in late 2009. Despite this accomplishment, The Miz did not reach main event status until 2010.

After ascending incredibly quickly through the singles ranks, The Miz would become WWE Champion in November of 2010.

The preeminent moment of his young career took place at last spring’s WrestleMania XXVII. During the event, he successfully defended the WWE Championship against John Cena, with the help of interference from The Rock.  A month later, Cena would turn the tables, defeating The Miz and claiming the belt for himself.

The Miz’s over-the-top personality, wrestling ability and unique charisma have made him a true superstar in the WWE and within the realm of popular culture.

The Miz has appeared on NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” TBS’s “Conan” and the recently cancelled “Lopez Tonight,” as well as appearances on MTV, CNN and FOX News, to name a few.

The Miz is now the promotional face of the WWE and he appears to be really good at it.

Take a look at this ifollosports.com original video showcasing The Miz presenting his flamboyant self at SummerSlam Axxcess, last Saturday at LA Live in Los Angeles.

This clip took place one day prior to his six-man tag match at SummerSlam.

Part II of The Miz’s SummerSlam Axxess coverage displays him interacting with fans outside of The Miz character.

The WWE Universe seems to love him either way.
