MN High School Pitcher K's Five In One Inning

Eric Veglahn five strikeouts in one inningLa Crescent High School (MN) pitcher Eric Veglahn set a record that will not be broken any time soon.

Pitching against Hayfield High, the lefthander struck out five batters in just the seventh inning. His five K inning was "aided" by two passed balls by his catcher.

This feat had been previously achieved only four times in baseball history---three times in the minors and once during a spring training game.

Veglahn has a season record of 8-1, with an ERA of 1.47.
