Justin Morneau is currently the first baseman for the Colorado Rockies. Morneau played most of his career with the Twins (2003-2013), before getting traded to the Pirates late in 2013. Morneau had a successful first season in Denver, winning the National League batting title, after posting a .319 average.

Wednesday, per an iFolloSports.com tipster, brand new Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon was spotted riding a bicycle on Tampa's Bayshore Boulevard. Maddon's love of cycling has been well chronicled, including this piece in Bicycling.com, where coincidently, he speaks of a recent ride he took along the very same South Tampa roadway.

Darryl Strawberry is a former MLB player, who played from 1983-1999. Strawberry was an instant star for the Mets, winning the 1983 NL Rookie of the Year award, while also making 8 consecutive All-Star appearances (7 – Mets, 1 – Dodgers). The Los Angeles native was one of the key contributors to the Mets' 1986 World Series champion team.

Tony La Russa has experienced a pretty good 2014. First, he was named Chief Baseball Officer of the Arizona Diamondbacks in May. Then in August, the Tampa native was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Sunday, the Orioles completed a three-game sweep of the Tigers, at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit. After the game, Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley, who was the color commentator for the TBS broadcast, took time to sign autographs outside the stadium.
