Lloyd McClendon is in his first year as manager of the Seattle Mariners. McClendon played in the Big Leagues, from 1987-1994, and is most known for his stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1990-1994). McClendon has led the resurgent Mariners to a 67-57 record, 6.5 games behind the Los Angeles Angels in the AL West and tied for the second American League Wild Card spot.

Minnesota Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki is in his eighth MLB season and first in Minnesota. The Twins are Suzuki's third team, with the 30-year-old spending most of his career with the Oakland Athletics. In 2014, the Hawaii native made his first All-Star Game appearance.
Entering Monday, Suzuki is batting .307 with 3 homeruns and 49 RBI.
