Lance Martinez from My Detroit Sports provides this photo of Los Angeles Clippers star point guard Chris Paul saying hello to Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, after a recent Clippers visit to The Palace of Auburn Hills, for a game against the Pistons.
Though the two men did not overlap during separate stints at Wake Forest, the pair does have the ACC school in common. Paul played two seasons with the Demon Deacons from 2003 through 2005, while Caldwell served as the university’s head football coach from 1993 through 2000.

Despite growing up on the South Side of Chicago, many fans still place Howard’s younger days in the state of Michigan, due to his three-year run with the iconic Fab Five, in nearby Ann Arbor. The Palace sits just 54 miles northeast of the Michigan campus.

Lance Martinez from My Detroit Sports provides this photo of he and the late great Craig Sager, who passed away Thursday, after a courageous two-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Sager was 65. He leaves behind his wife Stacy and five adult children.
This photo occured outside of The Palace of Auburn Hills, during last season’s opening round playoff series between the Pistons and the eventual world champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Sager was in the midst of battling his horrific disease at the point when this picture was gathered.

25 games into his rookie campaign, Brown is averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game, coming off the bench for Boston (Brown has started 3 games this season). The 20-year-old Atlanta area native played one season of college ball at Cal, where he earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors. Brown was selected with the third pick in last June’s draft.

For three pretty unbelievable reasons, Thomas stands as one of the most unique and unlikely great players in the NBA. No wonder an Isaiah Thomas autograph is a big deal for fans.

The American sports legend grew up in the Michigan capital city of Lansing, which sits 90 miles west of Sterling Heights. Before becoming a hall of fame point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, Johnson became a hero in his home state, amid leading Everett High School to a state title in 1977 and the Michigan State Spartans to an NCAA title in 1979.
