Adrian Gonzalez Signing Amid A Rough June (Video)
Through the first nearly three months of the 2014 season, Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez has not had what can be described as a typical A-Gon season. While the four-time All-Star does lead the team in homeruns (12), and is tied for the club lead in RBI (42), his batting average currently stands at .252, a full 40 points below his career mark of .292. Without question, Gonzalez's most pressing shortcoming, so far this season, involves his productivity versus lefties. Gonzalez is hitting .177, with an OPS of .503, when standing in against southpaws. By comparison, vs. righties, the power hitting lefty boasts a far more impressive .283 BA, with a .893 OPS.
Gonzalez's month of June has really been a struggle. This month, the 32-year-old is hitting just .175, with zero HR and only 5 RBI.
Despite his individual issues, Gonzalez's Dodger teammates have really stepped it up of late, going 7-3 in their last 10 games. LA enters Friday only four games behind their archrival San Francisco Giants.
Recently, iFolloSports.com captured the above original video of Gonzalez, as he stopped to sign autographs, after leaving an LA Starbucks.
Based on his fantastic career résumé, it would be shocking if Gonzalez did not snap out of this current slump, and once again put up his normally unreal level of productivity.
