Baseball Great & Broadcasting Legend Unite To Fight Prostate Cancer (Video)

Last year,, in conjunction with Stein-O-Mite Media (one of Southwest Florida’s finest production companies), chronicled the charitable efforts of legendary New York baseball journalist Ed Randall. In the wake of being treated for prostate cancer, Randall formed a charity called “Fans for the Cure.” The organization’s mission involves spreading awareness of the disease, while advocating for the importance of early detection. Randall’s cause also raises money for cancer research.

While last season’s coverage focused on Randall’s visit to Tampa Bay Rays camp, the above piece of original video showcases his recent stop through Minnesota Twins spring training in Fort Myers, Florida.  Like last year, the footage is provided by Stein-O-Mite Media, which is headquartered in nearby Estero, Florida.

The clip shows Randall and Twins great Tony Oliva interacting in the dugout, shortly before the pair head out to the mound, where Oliva (a three-time AL batting champ and eight-time AL All-Star) throws one of the day’s ceremonial first pitches.

Later in the video, Oliva is seen signing autographs on the field, including one for Randall.
