Baseball Lifer Buck Martinez Signing At Spring Training (Photo)

Here is an original photo of former baseball player and manager Buck Martinez signing autographs, during Grapefruit League Spring training, at the Blue Jays winter home, Dunedin Park, in Dunedin, Florida.

Since retiring from being an active player, Martinez has been a highly successful broadcaster for the Blue Jays, Orioles, ESPN and TBS. The 69-year-old currently serves as Toronto’s play-by-play voice, after spending much of his media career as a color commentator. 

The Northern California native played catcher in the big leagues from 1969 through 1986, spending time with the Royals, Brewers and Jays. Never much of an offensive player, Martinez’s long playing career came about thanks to his defensive prowess and knowledge of the game.

Martinez briefly managed Toronto during all of 2001 and a portion of 2002.
