Boy Wonder GM Working His Phone In Anaheim (Photo)

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels became the youngest GM in baseball history, when he was hired by the Rangers in 2005, at only 28-years-old. Seven years later, the now grizzled 35-year-old has transformed the Dallas/Fort Worth based franchise from mediocrity, to one of the best and most respected organizations in the game.

Texas is looking to advance to their third consecutive World Series in 2012. The club lost to the San Francisco Giants in 2010 (five games) and then went down in a devastating seven-game defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals last season.

At the present time, the Rangers own the best record in the American League, with superstar outfielder Josh Hamilton (Daniels' most significant acquisition) leading the team with 42 homeruns and 123 RBI.

On this day, Daniels (pictured above leaving the DoubleTree Anaheim-Orange County, per an iFolloSports original photo) was in consultation with doctors, after Hamilton left Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels, due to vision issues.

Right now, Hamilton's health is the concern.

Next month, the subject will be the Rangers quest to win their first-ever World Series.

During the upcoming offseason, Hamilton's impending free agency will be front and center.

These scenarios all lead back to one man, Mr. Jon Daniels. This is the life of one of the youngest front office “power players” in Major League Baseball.

If the last few years are any indication, the “Boy Wonder” will find a way to make the right call.
