Chronicling A Tiger Legend Then & Now (Photos)
Lou Whitaker is the former and very popular second baseman for the Detroit Tigers, who played for the team from 1977-1995. During the Brooklyn, New York native's time in Detroit, the now 57-year-old won three gold gloves, was a five-time All-Star and helped the Tigers win the 1984 World Series.
Recently, Whitaker made an autograph signing appearance at Game Day Detroit, located at the Twelve Oaks Mall, in Novi, Michigan. During the event, Michigan based iFolloSports.com contributor Lance Martinez captured the above original picture with Whitaker (upper right).
Interestingly enough, this was not the first time Martinez and Whitaker have been pictured together. Back in the mid 1990's, much younger versions of both men are seen in the below photo, when the Tigers legend stopped to sign at the franchise's spring training facility in Lakeland, Florida.
