Is Derek Jeter On The Verge Of Taking His Talents To South Beach?
By Jon Rapoport
Retired New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter may be on the verge of beginning his second act in the game of baseball.
Jeter, along with a group of investors, are believed to be actively involved with trying to purchase the Miami Marlins from current owner Jeffrey Loria. Since retiring from the Yankees in 2014, Jeter has spent the bulk of his time living at his primary residence in Tampa, an easy one-hour flight from Miami.
In an interesting twist, one of Jeter’s main competitors for the franchise may be former Florida governor/2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush, who is also believed to be a part of a pursuing group. Bush is a longtime Miami area resident.
