Fan Photo Submission: Steve Garvey

Steve Garvey is one of the most popular Los Angeles Dodgers players, dating back to when the team moved west for the 1958 season. Garvey, who spent most of his career at 1B, was part of many great Dodger clubs in the 1970's and early 1980's, helping LA to four World Series appearances (1974,1977,1978,1981), with a World Series victory in 1981. The Tampa native's résumé includes 10 NL All-Star appearances, 4 Gold Gloves, 1974 NL MVP honors and the record for the most consecutive games played in NL history.
Garvey finished his career with the Padres, serving as a key contributor to San Diego's 1984 World Series appearance.
Garvey, who still lives in Southern California and works with the Dodger organization in an ambassador role, was recently voted the 12th greatest Dodger of all-time, by an LA Times fan poll.
Recently, iFolloSports.com reader Shaan Khilnani submitted the above photo with him and the Dodger legend, taken outside of Dodger Stadium.
