Lance Martinez from My Detroit Sports provides this photo of former White Sox and Tigers OF Magglio Ordonez signing autographs at the D Shop, located inside Detroit’s Comerica Park.
The now 42-year-old Ordonez stands as one of the most underrated players of his generation. During eight seasons in Chicago and seven years in Detroit (1997-2011), the righty slugger drove in more than 100 runs on seven occasions. All told, the Venezuela native retired with career totals of a .309 BA, 294 HR, 1,236 RBI and 2,156 hits. Ordonez’s résumé also features the AL batting crown in 2007.
Now well into his retirement, Ordonez currently serves as the mayor of Juan Antonio Sotillo Municipality, located in the eastern Venezuelan state of Anzoátegui.
