Helton & Tulowitzki Joking Around At LA Hotel

One of the most surprising early developments of the 2013 baseball season involves the play of the Colorado Rockies. After a last place finish in 2012, the Denver based ballclub finds itself atop a National League Western division that just so happens to include the defending world champion San Francisco Giants and suddenly spend happy Los Angeles Dodgers.

For many years, the cornerstones of the Rockies franchise have been first baseman Todd Helton and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Monday afternoon, the pair of Rockie icons were spotted conversing with one another, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, in the Century City section of Los Angeles. Colorado is visiting LA for a three-game series versus those previously mentioned Dodgers.

Early Monday afternoon, shortly before one of the team's charter buses departed for the 15-mile drive east to Dodger Stadium, Helton was seen playfully yelling at Tulowitzki, after seeing him from the other side of the lobby. Tulowitzki, a California native, returned the favor with a little sarcasm of his own, before the two stars took part in an extended conversation, while joined by some of their teammates.

Ironically, both Helton and Tulowitzki are dealing with some injury issues, at the present time. The 1B finds himself on the 15-day DL (inflamed forearm), while the SS is listed as day-to-day (strained shoulder).
