During stints with the Indians (twice), Red Sox, Royals and Athletics, the Los Angeles native has collected 1,572 hits and 309 stolen bases. The highpoints of his résumé include leading the American League in stolen bases in 2011 and being a member of Boston’s 2007 world championship squad.
Crisp’s long run as a solid, but not spectacular big league ballplayer has resulted in a whopping $70 million of contractual earnings. Not a bad gig if you can get it.
