Jim Thome Is Always A Genuine Guy (Video)

Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Jim Thome is playing in his twentieth MLB season.

The five-time All-Star‘s 611 career homeruns places him sixth on the all-time list. In addition to his powerful bat, Thome has always been known as one the most popular players in all of baseball, due in large measure to his big smile and genuine nature.

Thome spent the first half of his career with the Cleveland Indians, before playing several seasons with both the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox. Since the 2009 campaign, Thome has bounced around to several teams before ending up in Baltimore.

In 2010, Thome signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Twins. During that year, he belted 25 long balls, including some simply majestic shots, instantly making him a fan favorite in Twins territory. He re-signed with the Twins in 2011, where he hit homerun number 600, before getting traded back to the Indians.

Here is iFolloSports.com original video of Thome spending extended time interacting with fans in his return to Target Field in Minneapolis. His autograph was in high demand from both Twins and Orioles fans. As one would expect, the Peoria, Illinois native was very cordial to everyone in his presence.

Thome is truly one of the good guys in all of sports.
