Torre has been involved with Major League Baseball every year since 1960. The Brooklyn native played for 3 teams from 1960-1977, appearing in 9 All-Star Games, while winning the 1971 NL MVP.

Torre would then spend 29 seasons in the dugout, managing 5 teams from 1977-1984 and 1990-2010. He is best remembered for leading the Yankees to 4 World Series championships, amid 12 consecutive postseason appearances, during his 12 seasons in The Bronx.

These days, the 75-year-old serves as the executive vice president of baseball operations for Major League Baseball.

Torre’s life in baseball earned him induction into the hall of fame in 2013.
