Legendary Baseball Executive Dave Dombrowski Spotted At Spring Training In Florida (Photo)
While attending spring training in Florida, Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports gathered this original photo of former Tigers general manager and current Red Sox President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski. The picture was taken outside of LECOM Park, the Pirates’ Bradenton (FL) spring training facility.
The 61-year-old Dombrowski has run the baseball operation for the Expos, Marlins, Tigers and now Red Sox.
The Chicago area native has won at every one of his stops, with the highlight occurring in 1997, when Dombrowski put together the Marlins’ world championship roster.
Dombrowski’s 14-year tenure with Detroit included two American League pennants, amid five total playoff appearances. The franchise lost both of their recent World Series appearances, in 2006 to the Cardinals and 2012 to the Giants.
Since taking over the Red Sox, who were in last place the year he arrived in Boston (2015), the Sox have won the American League East during the past two seasons.
