A Look At Derek Jeter's Summer Of Retirement Gifts
Derek Jeter's final week in baseball has already provided fans with an unbelievably memorable moment; during his last ever game at Yankee Stadium. Thursday night, Jeter singled to right field, in the bottom of the 9th inning, driving in the winning run in the Yankees 6-5 win over the Orioles. It was an electric atmosphere in the Bronx, as Jeter now has just three more games left, ironically against the archrival Red Sox, this weekend at Fenway Park.
During the course of the season, the Yankee legend has received retirement gifts from each road team New York has traveled to. Perhaps three of the most unique gifts were a personalized surfboard, courtesy of the Angels, a kayak, also with his name on it, from the Rays, and a personalized guitar from the Indians.
