Mark Trumbo Signing Autographs In Anaheim (Video)

Los Angeles Angels power-hitting 1B/OF Mark Trumbo is most certainly living the dream. While very few big league ballplayers can boast of playing for their hometown team, even fewer are able to live out their childhood dream a mere 10 minutes from the home in which they grew up. Amazingly, Trumbo was born in Anaheim, Calif., the very same city the Angels have called home, going all the way back to 1966. The now 27-year-old would go on to attend Villa Park High School (in the nearby Orange County city of Villa Park), located only five miles east of his current place of employment, Angel Stadium. To add even more of a fairy tale element to this story, the above narrative just so happened to take place in the shadow of the “Happiest Place on Earth,” Disneyland. Of course it did.

Now in his third full Major League season, Trumbo is on pace to lead LAA in homeruns for the third straight season. In 2011, the 6-4, 235 lbs. slugger belted 29 big flies. He followed up that effort by cracking 32 bombs in 2012. Entering Friday's game versus the Oakland Athletics, the 2005 high school All-American once again leads his team with 22 HR. It certainly looks as if the Angels have found themselves a source of right-handed power, for many years to come.

Wednesday, prior to LAA's victory over the Minnesota Twins, Trumbo took time to sign autographs, per the above iFolloSports.com original video. The 2012 All-Star is clearly very comfortable around the people he has spent his entire life playing baseball in front of.
