Mike Trout Adds To His Incredible Rookie Resume

Mike Trout 20 home runs and 40 stolen basesThursday night, Los Angeles Angels centerfielder Mike Trout became the youngest player in major league history to hit 20 home runs and record 40 stolen bases in a season. Entering Friday, the 21-year-old rookie sensation is hitting .345 and has scored 99 runs, in only 102 games. Trout is in the midst of one of the greatest years a rookie has ever put together, while all but locking up American League Rookie of the Year honors.

Despite the great play of Trout and the additions of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, the Angels have had  a disappointing season to this point, trailing the Texas Rangers by 8.5 games in the American League West and the Tampa Bay Rays by 2.5 games in the American League Wild Card race.
