The Rocket's Last Stand

Roger ClemensJury selection begins this week in the perjury trial of Roger Clemens, regarding his 2008 testimony before Congress claiming that he never used steroids or other performance enhancing drugs. The actual trial will begin next week and will last four to six weeks. Clemens could receive up to 30 years in prison if found guilty on all charges.  He is facing a total of six counts, including obstruction of justice and making false statements to Congress.

Among those likely to testify are former Yankees strength and conditioning coach Brian McNamee and at least three former Yankees teammates, including Andy Pettitte. Clemens still insists that McNamee only injected him with vitamin B12 and lidocaine.

Besides using steroids, Clemens is also guilty of having a massive ego and his own vanity.
