Shohei Ohtani Showing Off His Skills At Angels Camp (Videos)

Wednesday, the Babe Ruth of Japanese baseball officially made his spring training debut with the Los Angeles Angels. Shohei Ohtani’s arrival at LA’s Tempe, Arizona facility included meeting the media, along with some work as both a pitcher and hitter.

Over the course of his five-year career in the Nippon Professional Baseball league, the 23-year-old went 42-15 as a pitcher, with a 2.52 ERA. In the batter’s box, Ohtani hit .286, with 48 HR and 166 RBI, during this stretch.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia primarily plans to use the three-time Japanese All-Star as a pitcher, with the option to employ his hitting skills on a more limited basis.
