Spring Training Stadium Showcase: ESPN Wide World of Sports

Champions Stadium ESPN Wide World of SportsLocated in the most tourist accessible spot of any MLB spring training facility, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (situated on the southern tip of the Walt Disney World Resort) has been the February/March home of the Atlanta Braves since 1997.

Set amid the wide array of multi sport athletic fields and training sites stands Champion Stadium, the Braves 9,500-seat Grapefruit League ballpark. The stadium's design combines the look of a classic field with that of old time Florida architecture (photos below).

Sitting 20 miles west of Orlando International Airport, 21 miles southwest of downtown Orlando and just off the very busy Interstate 4, the Lake Buena Vista, Florida complex is among the easiest to get to of the spring training parks, attracting both Braves fans and people simply visiting the Central Florida tourist mecca.

While the Braves dominate the complex, during this current time on the calendar, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is bustling all year-round. With this in mind, check out an iFolloSports.com original photo of former all-pro NFL WR Torry Holt, captured during the Pop Warner Super Bowl, back in early December.
