Teheran Gets Bombed

Julio Teheran gives six homeruns in two inningsOK, it isn't what you thought.

Right-hander Julio Teheran gave up six home runs in two innings, as the Tigers hit a total of nine homers, pounding the Braves 18-3 last week in Grapefruit League play.

Hoping to win a spot in the Braves starting rotation, Teheran was betrayed by poor stuff and a strong breeze blowing out to right.

The Major League record for most homeruns allowed in a regular season game is six. Recent victims include James Shields of the Rays, Tim Wakefield of the Red Sox and R.A. Dickey of the Mets.

Teheran allowed only nine total homers last season, between stints in the minors and with the Braves in Atlanta.

He had been 15-3 at Triple A Gwinnett before his promotion.
