Verlander, Martinez, Ausmus and Trammell At TigerFest (Photos)
Lance Martinez from My Detroit Sports was on hand at 2017 TigerFest, the club’s winter fan event, held annually at Comerica Park. In addition to providing an up close look at Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera, Martinez sent along the below original photos, chronicling some of the prominent current and former Detroit Tigers present at the event.
Pitching great Justin Verlander signing autographs. Last season, the six-time All-Star went 16-9, with a 3.04 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 254 strikeouts.
Tigers RF J.D. Martinez with fans. In 2016, the 29-year-old batted .307, with 22 homeruns and 68 RBI.
Detroit manager Brad Ausmus at the autograph table. Last season, Ausmus led the club to an 86-75 record. In his three seasons, the longtime MLB catcher has posted a 250-234 mark.
Former Tigers SS/Michigan sports icon Alan Trammell in his old stomping grounds. Trammell played 20 years with the Tigers, winning the 1984 World Series, while appearing in six All-Star Games.
