Wakefield, Clemens & Cy Young Share Distinction

Tim Wakefield 200 wins and 19 seasonsFriday, knuckleballer Tim Wakefield announced his retirement from the Boston Red Sox. Remarkably, Wakefield pitched until he was 45-years-old and just last season picked up his 200th and final career win.

Wakefield compiled a 200-180 record, during his 19-year career, including 186 wins with the Red Sox (other 14 with Pirates). This achievement places him in good company, as only Roger Clemens and Cy Young have won more games in a Boston uniform, each compiling 192 wins, the most in Red Sox history.
