Jeff Gordon Promotional Appearance In LA (Videos)
One day after finishing eighth in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, four-time Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon made an appearance at the LA Live complex, located in downtown Los Angeles, across the street from Staples Center. Gordon was in Southern California to promote the upcoming Auto Club 400, which takes place on March 25 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, 45 miles east of downtown LA.
Gordon arrived at the event courtesy of an Auto Club Speedway number 11 replica racecar. The driver of the famous number 24 car drove down 11th Street, before parking and exiting the vehicle.

Gordon immediately put the crowd at ease when offering a joke about the safety considerations of leaving the car unattended on an LA street.
The three-time Daytona 500 winner's work on behalf of the Auto Club 400 comes a few days after 2012 Daytona winner Matt Kenseth took part in a similar appearance at LA's legendary Pink's Hot Dogs.
Once seated on the event stage, Gordon took a variety of questions. One of the most newsworthy items involved Gordon's take on the recent six-race suspension of Chad Knaus, the crew chief for Sprint Cup five-time champion Jimmie Johnson.
Per this iFolloSports.com original video, Gordon defends a crew chiefs' need to try and get the most out of a car, while also discussing the ways in which Ray Evernham, Gordon's former crew chief, would push the envelope in hopes of gaining an advantage on the track.
Gordon, the Vallejo, California native, appeared very comfortable back in the state of his youth. Come March 25, the current Charlotte, North Carolina resident hopes to rekindle a little magic on the Fontana track, where he has been crowned champion on three occasions (1997, 1999, 2004).
