Dallas/Fort Worth Has Become the Place to Decide Champions

Downtown DallasWednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks advanced to the NBA Finals, after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-96, during the fifth game of the Western Conference Finals.

The NBA championship series taking place in Dallas/Fort Worth represents the continuation of a championship game trend that began in the area last October.

The 2010 World Series was played in nearby Arlington, when the hometown Texas Rangers lost to the World Champion San Francisco Giants in five games.

Directly across the street from Rangers Ballpark, Super Bowl XLV was played at Cowboys Stadium on February 6, with the Green Bay Packers defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25.

Within a span of seven months, the three biggest professional sports leagues in the country will all have decided who's number one in the very same metropolitan area.

Enjoy it while it lasts North Texas!
