Ballmer & Allen Lead List Of Wealthiest Sports Owners

Forbes World's Richest Sports Team Owners Forbes Magazine just released its 2016 list of pro sports’ wealthiest owners. Amazingly, the common denominator for the men at the very top of the rankings is a little company in Seattle called Microsoft.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer comes in first at $23.5 billion. The former Microsoft CEO purchased the franchise for $2 billion in 2014.

Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen grabs the second spot with a net worth of $17.5 billion. The Microsoft co-founder paid $200 million for Seattle in 1997 and $70 million for Portland in 1988. Allen also owns a minority stake in the Seattle Sounders.
