Blake Griffin Appearance At LA Auto Show (Videos)

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin might very well be the most acrobatic NBA player since the greatest of them all, Michael Jordan. While without question, “His Airness” is a vastly superior all-around player (in comparison to the still ascending third year man from Oklahoma), it can be argued that not since MJ's retirement has a player more electrified the basketball world than the 6-10 LA high flyer.

After averaging 21.6 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, during his first two seasons, the 2011 Rookie of the Year's averages have slid to 16.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest (this season), entering Saturday's game versus the Sacramento Kings.

Despite Griffin's slight drop in productivity, life is going pretty darn well for his Clippers these days, as the franchise finds itself tied atop the Pacific Division, two full games (entering Friday) ahead of the struggling Los Angeles Lakers.

Aside from Griffin's electrifying game and his team's continual improvement in the standings, the top pick in the 2009 draft might be best known for his rather entertaining association with Kia Motors. In addition to starring in a series of very well conceived commercials, the highlight of his alliance with the South Korean automobile company involves Griffin's 2011 slam dunk contest clinching dunk, which of course he successfully executed by leaping over a Kia Optima.

Friday, per the above iFolloSports.com original video, the Clipper superstar made a two-hour appearance (on behalf of Kia) at the LA Auto Show, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Griffin signed autographs and posed for photos with a long line of fans, many of whom waited two to three hours, just for the opportunity to mix it up with the Manhattan Beach (CA) resident. Griffin was incredibly affable to the assembled group of extremely excited fans. In the above clip, he does everything from sarcastically chiding a woman for wearing a Lakers shirt, to playfully engaging a shy and very young basketball fan.

Griffin presented himself in an incredibly classy manner.

For Blake Griffin fans interested in hearing a little bit about his opinion of Kia's line of automobiles, here is an iFolloSports.com original clip of the thunderous dunker telling a company rep that he does indeed drive a 2013 Optima, in the course of his real life. The famous pitchman also answered a question regarding which of the ad campaign's younger versions of Griffin most resembled number 32's look, during the two-time All-Star's actual childhood in Oklahoma City.
