Clippers Could Deliver Near Knockout Blow To Grizzlies In Game 2

NBA teams win series 94 percent of the time when taking 2-0 leadSaturday night, in Game 1 of their Western Conference first round series, behind Chris Paul's 23 points, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 112-91, in Los Angeles. Both teams come into the best-of-7 practically even, as they each posted 56-26 records, during the regular season.

If the Clippers are able to win Monday night's Game 2 and take a 2-0 series advantage, the former other team from LA will suddenly possess a very good chance of advancing to the second round. Remarkably, teams that take a 2-0 lead (in best-of-7 NBA series) go on to win a whopping 94 percent of the time.

While this stat is most certainly a big deal in all NBA playoff series, it is most noteworthy in this case, because of how tightly contested it was believed this series would turn out to be.

However, if the Grizzlies do win on Monday, with the next two games back home in Memphis, the chances of a long and extended series increase exponentially, particularly when considering the intensity of last year's seven-game slugfest, in which the underdog Clippers came out victorious.
