An Up Close Look At Draymond Green In His Home State Of Michigan (Photo)
Last month, when the Warriors made their once yearly visit to Detroit, Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports obtained this original photo of Warriors forward and Saginaw, Michigan native Draymond Green talking with his friends and family.
Saginaw sits about 100 miles north of Detroit.
Green was selected with the 35th pick of the 2012 draft, after not being super highly regarded out of Michigan State, despite winning Big Ten Player of the Year honors in his senior season. Since arriving in Oakland, Green has become one of the best and most versatile players in the NBA and perhaps the Warriors most important defensive player.
Green is a two-time NBA champion, three-time member of the NBA All-Defensive First Team, two-time All-Star and the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year.
In 2015, the Warriors rewarded Green’s early career achievements when signing him to a new five-year/$82 million contract.
