Controversial Warriors Center Zaza Pachulia Signing Autographs (Photo)
Recently, Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports captured this original photo of Warriors center Zaza Pachulia signing autographs at the Pistons and Red Wings new home venue, Little Caesars Arena, in midtown Detroit.
Pachulia is now in his 15th NBA season, with the Warriors serving as his fifth team. He was drafted by the Magic in 2003, but has spent the majority of his career with the Atlanta Hawks (eight full seasons).
Pachulia is perhaps most infamously known for injuring Spurs star Kawhi Leonard with a closeout foot slide, during Game 1 of last year’s Western Conference Finals. At the time of the incident, the Spurs held a 21-point third quarter lead, which the team then surrendered, leading to an eventual loss of the game and series.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called out Pachulia for a dirty play, which Pachulia later denied.
For his career, Pachulia, a native of the republic of Georgia, has averaged 7.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
